Birth Services

Ever wondered what a birth doula does and how they fit into your birth journey?
A birth doula is a trained professional that provide emotional, physical and informational support during birth. But what does that mean?
Here’s what this can look like:
-During Pregnancy:
1. We meet with you to understand your birth preferences, answer your questions and actively listens to any fears or concerns.
2. We guide you with creating a birth plan that reflects your value, traditions, preferences, priority and hopes
3. We provides you with evidence based information about possible interventions, comfort measures, positions, and birth options so you can have an INFORMED decision
4. We are here for you to LISTEN. We listen whether you’re excited, anxious, scared, we listen and validate.

-
During birth and labor:
1.We offer continuous support and hands-on support the moment we’re needed, until your precious one is born
2. We help with comfort measures, such as offer massages, counter-pressure, hip squeezes, position changes (even during an epidural if not contraindicated!), breathing techniques, hot/cold compressors, progressive relaxation and visualization!
3. We help in creating a calm environment to surge that oxytocin! We encourage slow dancing with partner (if you’re comfortable with it). We offer dim light. whether you are at home, birthing center or hospital. We are your anchor.
4. We hold space for you emotionally, we encourage, we validate, we remind you of your strength. WE GOT THIS!
5. We support your partner!
6. We help you communicate with your healthcare team and encourage you to ask questions. *WE DO NOT MAKE A DECISION FOR YOU*

-
After Birth:
1. We stay for you for 1-2 hours to advocate for skin to skin, assist with lactation
2. We make sure you’re ok, we listen to you and be there for you

Awesome right!
Every birth is unique, and each family needs personalized support. We do not care if you decide to have a vaginal birth or a cesearan birth, We are here for you.
